Subject: Tattam's Winsock
Hi there people,
I'm using Peter Tattam's Trumpet Winsock Ver 1.0 A and was wondering if
there was a newer version of this. I see lots of posts about Winsock
ver 1.1, but cannot locate anything but the source files.
Thanks,

Subject: Will CPU speed alone affect SLIP performance under Windows?
We are currently in the market to purchase a new laptop to perform a
multitude of network applications on the road. As far as improving
serial communications is concerned I believe we have that covered,
(i.e., 16550 UART's, modem speed and compression, changes to
system.ini, etc.), but if you would like to make any suggestions please
do. The real question I have is whether or not a 486sx/33 cpu will cause
serial line communications to perform slower than say a 486dx/50.
I am ONLY concerned with serial line communications, NOT system
performance in general.
Thanks in advance...
